As a Spanish speaker, I reviewed these books separately some time back and enjoyed each one of them. Now, they have been done as a compilation of stories that will help many kids learn Spanish in an English speaking country, or English in a Spanish speaking country. It is a fun learning experience either way. The stories are in English and Spanish on the same page and deal with real threats to the younger children in a family. Things like fear, everyday mysteries, and what to eat are all touched on in these stories. They would also work for the reader who wants to brush up on or even learn a bit of either language. Author Information

College media instructor Karl Beckstrand is the best-selling and award-winning author/illustrator of 30 multicultural/multilingual titles and more than 60 ebooks. He's lived abroad and interned for a Massachusetts publisher and for Congress in D.C. He earned a B.A. in journalism, an M.A. in international relations and conflict resolution, and a broadcast/film certificate.
