出山，本名康森厚。早年毕业于西安交大，获工科学士和硕士学位。后于德国柏林工大深造，获工科博士学位。博士毕业后，来美国伯克利加大做博士后研究。两年后在亚利桑那州立大学获一研究职位，从事核反应堆安全科研工作。后进入 GE 航空，致力于军用和民用飞机发动机的研发与制造。十九年后从 GE 提前退休，全时间写作。出山于 1997 年在亚利桑那州立大学工作期间，受洗成为一名基督徒。之后他利用业余时间研读圣经，思考信仰、科学和哲学，探索追求真理。他曾加盟""网络基督使团""辩道同工组，笔名""尊主为大""，利用互联网传讲基督福音，为真道辩护。后来开始有关基督信仰和科普的网文写作。出山现居美国，业余爱好喜欢摄影、走路等户外活动，也喜欢打乒乓球和打油诗的写作
