2022 Lincoln Cent Mint State Price Guide Collectors now have a mint state price guide based on 12 years of research from the author and associates attending major coin auctions, mainly in our home state of Florida. Armed with this guide, a collector will never have to guess on a coin's value or overbid. Data collection reveals a wide range of prices paid for a coin with the same grade and grading service. Some of the prices paid are beyond expectation and can range from a few hundred dollars to thousands. Not all grading services are recognized on the same level by collectors and dealers. For example, even though ANACS was the first grading service, it ranks number three with collectors and dealers. On the other hand, PCGS is considered the gold standard for coin encasement, but some collectors and dealers believe the grading is more stringent than it should be. None of the grading services use the same standards for grading coins since each mint state grade's publicized determination is different. The same coins sent to four of the leading grading services yielded four different sets of results.
