On September 5, 2009, Quartzsite, Arizona experienced a great storm that dumped up to three inches of rain in a short period of time causing the Tyson wash to run full force from one bank to the other. This book contains photos of Tyson wash on storm day, as well as, photos of the aftermath on September 6, 2009. Also included are monsoon photos of 2010.

Having lived in Tacoma, Washington most of her life, Joan La Pointe desired to move to a climate that was DRY, SUNNY, and WARM. She moved to the southwest desert town of Quartzsite, Arizona in the sweltering summer heat of July 2008. She soon found an interest in photography and began to take photos of Quartzsite, Arizona and surrounding area. The most amazing photos that Joan took were of the great storm of September 5, 2009. This book is Joan's way of sharing these photos with the many residents and visitors to this quiet desert town.
