Overview

The book is a humorous account of Bret Schlesinger's experience as a soldier in the American army during the 1960's. In those days there was a draft and all able bodied American males were required to serve in the military. He served in peace time between the Korean War and the war in Vietnam.

Author Information

Bret Schlesinger was born in NYC in 1936. He attended public schools, graduated from Brandeis University and received his Masters Degree from NYU. He taught in the NYC Public School system at Washington Irving HS, A Phillip Randolph HS and City As School. He also worked at the Board of Education. He authored a book Understanding Education on his experiences. He served in the military and his record speaks for itself. He is currently happily married and retired.
