Overview

In 1226 Pine Lane: The Scarlet Adams murder, this gripping novel is told through the eyes of its young victim, sixteen-year-old Scarlet Adams, by Detective Mike Schaffer who we meet in the beginning. He brings the past to the forefront while keeping the present relevant. The story is first set in the coastal town of Havre de Grace, Maryland, where we learn about her life growing up there. He tells readers of the move her family makes to the suburbs outside of Philadelphia, a small, close-knit town where secrets lurk behind the very charming facade the landscape portrays. Scarlet has suffered tragedy already in her early life, but this has not stopped her from making the best of her situation and life. The home her family moves to has secrets and once discovering them she makes it her mission to address them. While on her journey to uncovering the truth behind these secrets she develops a friendship with Detectives Schaffer and Miller, who ultimately would end up being the very ones who investigate her murder. 1226 Pine Lane is a heart-pounding murder mystery that tells of the endless bonds of family, the relentless pursuit of truth, and the resilience of a determined teenager who refuses to let her own murder go unsolved, even if takes decades to do so. Scarlet's narrative, as told through the eyes of one Detective, takes the reader on a suspenseful ride through her everyday life and death.

From a young age I displayed a passion for reading, I loved the idea of escaping into different worlds that I could explore. I had a curiosity and vivid imagination, still do, which helped shape me into a natural storyteller. After graduating High School in 1996, I met my husband, and we have two beautiful daughters. Even though I loved to write, my life as mom and wife took precedence. I started writing my first book in 2006, during my free time. Along with short stories, poems, and other manuscripts. After the sudden loss of my mom in January 2021, as a way of helping to grieve her death I completed the first novel I started in 2006 and have written 4 others since. I enjoy writing many genres, mystery, thriller, historic fiction, drama, and fantasy novels with female heavy characters. Since both my daughters have now graduated from high school, I have been afforded the time and opportunities to write much more. My first manuscript was just published in June of 2023.
