Overview

Normally, the 12 days of Christmas begin on December 26 and end on January 6 with Epiphany, from the birth of Christ to the coming of the Magi. Sometimes the season is called Twelvetide. During this time, some churches celebrate the lives of various saints. Some traditions encouraging fasting during this season (perhaps not a bad idea in light of the Christmas feasting!). In the United States, this season has all but disappeared. This book celebrates the twelve days with twelve events surrounding the birth of Christ. The readings, artwork, and music offer food for thought and hope from God's Word that address the brokenness of the world today, just as they have for millennia. Perhaps after the clutter and chaos of Christmas ends, there is time to process, to ponder, to consider the meaning beneath the surface. These topics are not just for Christmas, but continue to offer significance and meaning throughout life.
