Author Information

Jeanine Le Ny created and edited dozens of best-selling novels for teens and young readers before becoming a full-time author. She currently resides in New York City with her husband, and enrolls in college classes every chance she gets. Kathleen Martin is a senior Kaplan College Admissions Consultant with more than 17 years of college admissions experience. Throughout her career, she has reviewed more than 10,000 applications, read an equal number of student essays, and performed thousands of admissions interviews. As a consultant, she has successfully guided hundreds of families through the college admissions process. Kathleen is particularly familiar with top-tier liberal arts schools, and has helped students gain admission to Georgetown, Cornell, Williams, Boston University and Indiana University, among others. She also has experience working with transfer students, prep school students, learning-disabled students, and physically challenged students. After earning her undergraduate degree in speech communications, psychology, and sociology from Ithaca College, Kathleen served as the Senior Associate Director of Admissions at Moravian College. Stephen O'Leary is a Kaplan College Admissions Consultant, with over 28 years of experience in college counseling. He was Director of Guidance for the Marblehead and Somerville, Massachusetts school systems as well as Director of Student Services for the Groton-Dunstable Regional School District in Groton, Massachusetts. For the past 20 years, Steve trained career and college counselors as an adjunct professor in the masters-level counseling programs at Salem State College and Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts. Steve has extensive experience working with students who are interested in Ivy League colleges, strong liberal arts colleges, collegiate athletic programs and appropriate four-year programs for students with learning disabilities. In addition to his membership in NACAC, Steve is a member of the Massachusetts School Counselors' Association.
