Author Information

Phil Parratore has been an advocate of hands-on science for gifted students for more than three decades. He has a real passion for getting children and adults involved with science education. His philosophy is very simple: Gifted children learn best by active participation in the understanding of abstract concepts. As a retired middle school math and science teacher for regular education, as well as gifted education students, Phil has served as a science consultant to numerous school districts throughout the United States. Phil holds a master's degree in school administration and secondary education. At the university graduate level, he has trained more than 5,000 students in the art of hands-on science. Phil had a cable TV show for children called The Wacky Science Show that showcased many of the activities used in 101 Hands-On Science Experiments, his 16th hands-on science book for children and educators.
