OverviewThis volume comprises dozens of techniques that work with children of varying levels of cognitive and emotional maturity. Culled from an expansive survey of experienced therapists throughout the world, the techniques were carefully selected for practicality, specificity and originality. Arranged for easy reference, each with a succint description and targeted application, the play therapy interventions described have been used with success in addressing such common problems as low self-esteem, and unresolved fear and anger as well as more serious psychological difficulties arising from loss, abuse and sexaul trauma. The comprehensive scope of this volume makes it a useful reference guide for students and mental health professionals as well as for parents who wish to open a new line of communication with their children.
