This is a rather tongue in cheek look at dating a Romanian woman. It was based on my first my first 2 years of living in Romania and is based on personal experience.The majority of people who have read this book did find it a funny, well thought out book. Lots of Romanians have commented on its accuracy and its sense of fun. If you are of an easily offended nature, then this book is probably not for you. It is full of practical hints and tips about getting to grips with the Romanian culture and their ways. No matter where in the world you happen to live, you will probably meet wonderfully warm, funny, intelligent Romanians, and this book may just give you that extra little help in building on these warm relationships. I learnt lots of these lessons the hard way, with kicks under the table and looks of shock as I tried in vain to remember who I am suppose to kiss or shake hands with and who I am suppose to vaguely nod at - it is not easy, as you either come across as a rather aloof Englishman, or in your desperation to not exclude anyone, as a man lacking in the finer social etiquette that a woman is looking for... Throw in a Romanian BBQ and a pile of wood and a rather lethal looking axe and you have the recipe of either walking out of the event looking like an incredibly smooth, well trained, practical man, or more often in my case, limping to the nearest first aid cabinet, for yet more plasters!I really hope you enjoy this book and take the time to come back and give it a fair rating. It was written for those who need it. Share it, give it as a gift, and make someone smile to day - if nothing else this is a book which you will be able to talk about for a long, long time!
