Author Information

Joan H. Schiller, MD, was trained at the University of Illinois Medical School, completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University Hospital in Chicago, and completed her training in Medical Oncology at the University of Wisconsin. She joined the UW faculty in 1987 and is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Schiller is currently head of the UW Combined Modality Lung Cancer Clinic and regularly sees patients with lung cancer and her colleagues in radiation therapy and thoracic surgery. In addition to patient care, she has a very active clinical research program, has published numerous articles related to the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, and in internationally recognized for her work in this area.
