After medical school, he left for Ontario, Canada where he completed training in Internal Medicine and Hematology. He is currently on the faculty at the University of California, San Diego where he holds appointments in the Divisions of Hematology/Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplantation. His primary clinical and research interests relate to the development and introduction of novel treatments for the management of lymphoma. Biographical SketchDr. Bociek is an Associate Professor and has been on faculty at UNMC since 1998. Dr. Bociek completed his residency and fellowship training in oncology at the University of Ottawa and bone marrow transplantation training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He also completed a master degree in Clinical Epidemiology. Dr. Bociek's expertise is in the treatment of patients with lymphoma. Dr. Bociek is the current Program Director of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program at UNMC. Dr. Bociek is involved in various clinical trials in patients with lymphoma. He enjoys interacting with students and is involved in various research activities at UNMC. He reviews for various journals in hematology and oncology. Jodi Garrett has been a nurse working with leukemia and lymphoma patients for over 20 years. She attended nursing school in Texas and trained at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and worked as a nurse there for 8 years. She now continues her career on the West coast at the University of California, San Diego. Jodi holds a national certification from the Oncology Nursing Society and volunteers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America by conducting a monthly support group for patients and family members, a group she has been facilitating for over 10 years.
