10 Commandments Opposing Unbiblical Claims

Overview

This book approaches the biblical writings through forensic textual analysis, suspending both belief and nonbelief in order to examine the text on its own terms. Rather than forcing doctrine into the writings or dismissing them through assumption, the analysis allows the verses, narratives, language, patterns, and characters to define themselves within the system of the text itself. Through direct comparison of passages, genealogies, parallel accounts, manuscript traditions, symbolic structures, and recurring literary patterns, the book examines how the biblical writings interact internally when read as they are written. The value of treating it as a self-contained closed system is that it allows us to examine the internal logic, definitions, and sequences without importing external assumptions about whether the events actually happened or whether the beings actually exist. This discipline prevents us from dismissing or affirming the narrative based on our personal beliefs. It simply lets the text speak on its own terms. Included throughout the work are tables mapping meanings, definitions, recurring patterns, and correlated verses in order to trace how concepts, language, and narratives connect across multiple passages within the biblical writings. Our goal is not to convert anyone to belief or to unbelief. It is not to defend the Bible or to attack it. It is to trace the internal shape of a closed communication system with as much precision as we can achieve. If the system we uncover reveals a coherent message, that is a finding, not a sermon. If it exposes contradictions that its popular interpreters have papered over, that too is a finding, not a condemnation. We do not tell ourselves that God exists, and we do not tell ourselves that God does not exist. Both statements are external judgments that lie outside our purpose. Instead, we take a single methodological step. When the narrative says that a certain being speaks, acts, commands, or creates, we treat that claim as a premise. We accept it provisionally, not because we have determined it to be true of the world outside the text, but because it is true within the narrative that we are about to treat it as if it is a closed system.
