Overview

This testimony was years in the making. I had it placed on my heart a long time ago to write a book, before I was even beginning to experience the worst days of my life. After suffering my most difficult year, although I experienced many, God told me this was the time to share my testimony with His people. It was not until I fell into a deep depression, was in the middle of a divorce, selling my first home, was living in another state for the 5th time in 2 years, was flat out broke, and was bordering on alcoholism, that I decided I needed to take my relationship with God seriously in order for my life to change. I had to obey Him no matter what fear I felt. It was this step that turned my life around. Not only did my situation change, but more importantly, my perspective changed. I viewed my current situations and my entire life up until this point with a softened heart and a renewed mind. Instead of feeling like the victim, I started to forgive. Instead of feeling angry, I started to feel compassion. Instead of feeling shameful, I felt like a new identity was being born in Christ. It became clear that even though life happens to us, it does not have to define us. I am sharing my story to inspire hope and to be a chain in the link of change. If God can do it for a sinner like me, He can do it for you too.
