Overview

The Pirate Princess and the Golden Locket is an exciting adventure story for 6-11-year-old children. The story follows Lotty; an adventurous orphan whose life is suddenly about to change forever. When on her twelfth birthday, Lotty is unexpectantly cast out from the Sevenoaks Home for Children, she befriends a cheeky little dog called Mr Jacks. Her life soon becomes an exciting adventure as together they encounter lazy pirates, hidden treasure and uncover the mystery about Lotty's golden locket! The Pirate Princess and the Golden Locket is a story full of loveable characters, swashbuckling adventures and ruthless pirates! ***** I loved the main character Lotty who is both smart and courageous! ***** A charming and exciting middle grade adventure story ***** A story full of twists, mishaps and mayhem. My daughter can't wait to read the second book.

Comment from Readers Favourite editor Carol Thompson This is one of the best stories I have read since I've been the proofreader and editor for Readers' Favorite, and that's over three years. Your writing clearly shows your creativeness and your talent, and you got me with the ending. I didn't see it coming. It is rare that an author can fool the reader. Usually, the endings are so predictable. The Pirate Princess and the Golden Locket is an entertaining story for young readers. Lotty's adventures continue, I hope. Reviewed By Ray Simmons for Readers' Favorite I loved The Pirate Princess and the Golden Locket by Suzanne Lowe. When I read a book for children I'm always thinking of children that I know. I know what they are looking for in a book and I know what their parents and grandparents are looking for in a book. Suzanne Lowe's book meets all their requirements. The Pirate Princess and the Golden Locket will be especially fun for young girls to read because they will identify with the protagonist. Charlotte has had a hard life but is brave, cheerful, positive, and helpful. She strives to do her best, no matter the circumstances, and is sure that things will work out even in her darkest moments. I like her, and I like her story. I'm sure young readers will too Reviewed By Stephen Fisher for Readers' Favourite The Pirate Princess and the Golden Locket by Suzanne Lowe is a marvellous adventure story for children of all ages. Ms. Lowe does a superb job of bring this adventure story to life, with wide array of characters and events that are vividly described. Redface, the cook, puts her to work alongside Jasper, the cabin boy. Suzanne Lowe weaves this adventure tale with enough surprises to keep you on the edge of your seat. The story moves along at a near breakneck pace, and there is no let-up in the action. For a book that really isn't very long, it is by no means short on all of the elements that make this book action packed. I was immediately drawn into the story. The Pirate Princess and the Golden Locket was just a joy to read from beginning to end, and tough to put down. I would love to see this entertaining masterpiece on the silver screen someday. The Pirate Princess and the Golden Locket by Suzanne Lowe is a page-turner for sure. Brava! Reviewed by Justine Reyes for Readers' Favorite Adventure, Five stars! I have been a fan of pirate adventures since I read Treasure Island as a child, so when I saw The Pirate Princess and the Golden Locket I jumped on it immediately. As an adult reading this, I can honestly say I enjoyed every bit of it and I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to read so that she can immerse herself in Lotty's amazing story. Suzanne Lowe's pacing of her story is brilliant for this genre; the story is quick, clean, and fun. I liked how much thought and detail was given, even to the minor characters like Red Face and Jasper, but most of all I loved how Lowe connected everything sweetly in the end and left room for more. I believe the author is working on the second novel and, without a doubt, I'll be looking forward to it. I would recommend The Pirate Princess and The Golden Locket to people with elementary school-aged children; it's an altogether wonderful and wholesome story.
