Overview

"Graphic novels are transforming the landscape of book publishing as we know it. Today, graphic novels are even deemed worthy of reviews in prestigious newspapers and magazines, such as ""The New York Times Book Review"" and ""The New Yorker"". Hollywood has also taken note: ""Road to Perdition"", ""Ghost World"", and ""From Hell"" are all based on graphic novels. Legions of fans are eager to understand the art of creating the graphic novel. But producing a graphic novel can be a daunting undertaking. It's comparable to being writer, director, set and costume designer, cinematographer, and editor of one's own movie. Part tutorial/part graphic novel, ""The Making Of A Graphic Novel"" offers readers a unique behind-the-scenes look at the making of an actual graphic novel. In illustrating the process, professional graphic artist, Prentis Rollins actually creates his own graphic novel. By the end of this tutorial, the reader goes on to receive an unprecedented bonus in any instructional text: the inclusion of an original, never-before published graphic novel entitled ""The Resonator"". Truly innovative in his approach, this how-to guide is narrated in Rollins's own clear, straightforward voice. ""The Making Of A Graphic Novel"" is sure to become a sensation among the many admirers of graphic novels, as well as everyone who appreciates fine storytelling and fine art."
