Overview

What if 95% of your life was spiritual and 5% daily existence, instead of the other way around, as you live it now? It is a choice that takes as much diligence as any other life choice. The reward is peace, comfort, oneness with the Spirit. This book provides contemplative poetry for meditation and devotion, transcribed messages from the Holy Spirit. Before long, I realized that Michael was transmitting God's desire to be God With Us in his poetry. Michael was being led to a whole different level of Christian writing. He was literally transcribing messages from the Holy Spirit as have other mystics through the ages. There have been moments when I read one of Michael's poems that my eyes sting and my body burns; my heart lays heavy with a grief for being away from heaven. I get the power of Michael's words, but I can't hold onto them. They aren't so easily absorbed and categorized into my thought process. I have to sit as he has with the idea that my soul needs to be in communication with God and that communication is not so easy to come by. It takes practice. It takes commitment. It takes desire to say as Saint Francis did My God and my all.

Author Information

Michael R. Martin (1960-) was born in Sacramento, CA and spent his early years tracking around the country with his Air Force father, including a few years in Iran, eventually settling near family roots in Gilmanton, NH in 1971. Michael is an environmental scientist by vocation. He lives in the Adirondacks, outside of Saranac Lake NY, with his wife and dog. He has two children: a daughter just graduating from College and a son who will graduate College next year. Michael was raised Roman Catholic. His faith journey began when he accepted Christ at a Baptist summer youth camp. Although he spent many years unassociated with organized religion, he jumped in deep when he joined the UMC in 1996. Michael soon joined the praise band, became active in church leadership, attended a Walk to Emmaus weekend, became a Certified Lay Speaker and immersed himself in Christian study. Along the way, he became the minister for the Sunday Praise Service, selecting the music and order of worship, leading the music with voice and guitar, and sharing preaching duties with the pastor and several other church members. Michael's hobbies include music, photography, and reading.
