Shimmer may lack the sizzling romantic tension with Rafa imprisoned for a good chunk of the book, but delivers on incredible action set pieces, high tension political stand-offs between the different factions within the Rephaim, and develops the interesting morality and mythology of the Angels. * THE BOOK BAG * Where I had loved SHADOWS and HAZE, I found myself to to be obsessed with SHIMMER. It's quite possibly my favourite of all the urban fantasy/paranormal series out there; I honestly can't think of anything that could better it (excluding Twilight, of course, 'cos I still have a special love for that book), and I don't say things like that lightly!
