OverviewThis unusual book - rich in colours, textures and symbolism - serves as a memento of the changing millennium. Based on The Book of Revelation, it traces a 4-year project by Melbourne-based artist Irene Barberis. She studied ancient Apocalypses in famous manuscript collections in London and Paris, then created her own contemporary version, using abstract and figurative images and new materials and techniques. It includes fold-out pages and images printed on tracing-paper. The book is introduced by Dr Michelle Brown, Curator of Illuminated Manuscripts in the British Library, London. The stunning photographs of the artworks and the artist's studio are by Garry Sommerfeld. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Michelle Brown , Michelle P.
