Author Information

Dr Meththika Vithanage is a Professor in Natural Resources at University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. Her research approach builds on enabling measurements of concentrations and reaction rates in environmental samples for key/emerging pollutants in the environment in order to assess their fate and transport to discover solutions to remediate those using different geo/bio/nano materials. Dr Vithanage’s contribution to science has been recognized by The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) presenting the Fayzah M. Al-Kharafi award in 2020. She is a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, Sri Lanka, and Institute of Chemistry, Ceylon, and was selected as one of the Early Career Women Scientists by the Organization for Women Scientists in Developing Countries, Italy. Her outstanding performance in research publications was recognized by the Presidential Awards, Sri Lanka, for consecutive 8 years from 2011 Dr. Dimitrios Giannakoudakis graduated as chemist from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in Greece, where he obtained also two M.Sc. degrees (in Physical-chemistry & Electrochemistry and in New Educational Technologies). He received his PhD degree on “Nanotechnology and Materials Chemistry” from the City University of New York (CUNY) with full scholarship, in 02/2017. Then, he continued as postdoctoral-fellow and adjunct tutor at the City College of New York, AUTh, and the Institute of Physical Chemistry (IChF) of Polish Academy of Sciences. Afterwards, he served at IChF as adj. Assistant Professor and tutor of “Modern nano-Topics in Physical Chemistry”. Currently, he is Research Associate and tutor at AUTh. He has co-authored more than 105 publications in leading peer-reviewed journals (avg. Impact Factor as 1st author above 11), with the articles to be cited more than 3000 times, one monograph by Springer, three edited books by Elsevier, more than 20 book chapters, and 3 invention patents. For more details: www.DaGchem.com Jagpreet Singh is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Chandigarh University, Mohali, India. His research areas focus on green/sustainable and chemical synthesis of Nanomaterials (nanoparticles, nanowires, nanorods, carbon dots, graphene, nanocomposites) and their environmental remediation’s applications in (Advanced oxidation processes, heavy metal ion sensing, catalysis, photocatalysis seed germination, antimicrobial activity). He is also an editorial member and reviewer for several international peer reviewed journals from international publishers.
