Overview

The smell was the first thing we noticed. It was a terrible smell that made us all cough: a smell of burning meat, with another stench overlaying it. Then we saw Firminus standing by the door. He pointed. 'Something's trying to get in,' he rasped. You've lived your whole life in peace and safety. You think your future is all mapped out. But then something goes horribly wrong. You have to start running. And suddenly your world will never be the same again. 'This fast-paced thriller follows Cheney and his friends and family on their mission to stay alive and fight the irreversible--full of brilliant imagery and unexpected twists.' Lucienne, age 16
