OverviewThis book deals with the problem of regulating community conflicts in the Loango district, using the example of the Vili ethnic group in the village of Diosso. Community conflicts in this district are mainly linked to land disputes. To regulate this type of conflict, the local community uses several methods that are both endogenous and state-based. In this way, and depending on cultural realities, endogenous methods are the most favored by the local community, who find them more accessible and take into account their traditional cultural realities. And yet, in reality, this same community resorts to state methods, depending on the scale of the conflict, for the sustainability and stability of the solution. In the face of such evidence, the search for a solution requires the cross-fertilization of endogenous and state methods, which in turn necessitates the recognition of several jurisdictional orders. Legal pluralism becomes the solution. However, a thorough understanding of what is at stake in the effectiveness of endogenous and state methods requires the involvement of all players in the process.
