Her parents were the political philosopher William Godwin and philosopher and feminist Mary Wollstonecraft. In 1816 she eloped with the then unknown Percy Bysshe Shelley. Shelley drowned when Mary was only 24, leaving her with an infant and debts. Her most famous work, FRANKENSTEIN, OR THE MODERN PROMETHEUS was written when she was only nineteen when Lord Byron suggested they tell ghost stories at a house party. BRYAN HITCH is a renowned comic book artist. He is also the co-creator and artist behind both THE AUTHORITY and THE ULTIMATES along with Mark Millar.
