Dwarfs: A Story for Grown-Ups

Overview

This book follows the history of the race of Dwarfs from the late ice-age in Sumer, via Anatolia, establishing a presence throughout the western hemisphere, before the gradually withdrew to underground colonies in Italy, Sweden and possibly North and South America. They were the teachers of Humans, as we first learnt stone masonry in communities in the Black Sea basin before it was flodded by the sea, and then in Anatolia. When Human society was sufficiently developed they taught us how to mine tin and to use it to manufacture bronze. Subsequently they showed us how to use iron-ore to make iron, and how to manufacture steel efficiently. They spread this knowledge together with an understanding of metallurgy around thw whole of the western hemisphere, and covertly assisted in the industrial revolution. Eventually they began to withdraw as they felt that they had contributed all they could to our development, and withdrew to thei underground bases in such places as Northern Italy, Northern Sweden, North and South America. Their more human-like associates probably withdrew to the Maya and Basque lands, and faded into the background. Othere have probably now taken on their role as Humankind's teachers.

Author Information

Martin Thomas was born near Cardiff, and is proud of his Welsh heritage. He was educated at a Quaker School, and obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He then went to work in the UK Ministry of Defence undertaking evaluations of military vehicles, before transferring to the UK Home Office (the equivalent of a US Department of State), where he led a team evaluating firefighting equipment and tactics. He has always been a keen reader of Science Fiction and, on his retirement, he decided to bring his years of experience to the evaluation of the Ancient Astronaut Theory, as described in programs on the Blaze television channel. This is a field where there is conflict between eyewitnesses ofunnatural phenomena, and thise determined to refute this evidence at any price. He is a firm believer in the Engineering Method: If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it probably is a duck.
