Overview

Austin is tired of living in his older brothers' shadows. When he learns about a local bike race Austin knows this is his chance to win his own trophy and prove he's as good as his brothers. But before he can claim his trophy Austin has to find a bike train and learn the course. This series does a nice job of spreading the wealth when it comes to sports fiction. Instead of concentrating on the typical mainstays, the series provides interesting storylines pertaining to some lesser publicized sports. The books are broken down into short chapters with plenty of white space for easy reading. The characters and plots are believable as each story escalates to its satisfactory conclusion. Full-page, b&w illustrations help the characters come to life and provide visual context. This high-interest, low-level series is sure to be a hit with many readers, but expect sports enthusiasts and Matt Christopher fans to be the first in line to get their hands on these books.
