OverviewNow that she knows that her client Bruce Wayne is actually the Batman, bodyguard Sasha Bordeaux is determined to do her job and protect him in both identities. However, tailing the Batman is not exactly an easy task, and she finds that he needs considerably less sleep than she does. Sasha realises that Bruce knows that she knows he's Batman, and the Mad Hatter, having been disguised as a coffee vendor outside GCPD headquarters, makes a phone call to detectives Allen and Montoya, putting them under his control. Sasha sees them don ski masks and hold up a pole dancing club. She tries to intervene, but soon finds herself held at gunpoint. Collects DETECTIVE COMICS #755-#765. Table of ContentsReviewsPraise for GOTHAM CENTRAL: Compelling drama...a great example of the literary and artistic maturity of the graphic novel format. --School Library Journal Outstanding...a deft mash-up of the super-hero saga and police procedural. --Booklist This Greg Rucka/Ed Brubaker/Michael Lark monthly comic was short-lived but absolutely fantastic. Essentially Homicide: Life on the Street where the criminals are all costumed lunatics, GOTHAM CENTRAL focused on the nitty-gritty police work performed by its gigantic cast of detectives. --Entertainment Weekly Critically acclaimed, if never a smash hit, GOTHAM CENTRAL was a distinctly grounded take on the Batman mythology filled with an ensemble cast who were particularly unlikely to show up in that month's issue of JUSTICE LEAGUE or SUPERMAN--imagine Hill Street Blues, but with the Joker showing up to cause mass terror every now and again. With minimal appearances from Batman throughout the run, GOTHAM CENTRAL demonstrated how well a police procedural could work in a world of super-villains and larger-than-life threats, given the appropriate treatment. --Hollywood Reporter Praise for GOTHAM CENTRAL: Compelling drama...a great example of the literary and artistic maturity of the graphic novel format. --School Library Journal Outstanding...a deft mash-up of the super-hero saga and police procedural. --Booklist This Greg Rucka/Ed Brubaker/Michael Lark monthly comic was short-lived but absolutely fantastic.
