He is a chartered engineer with over three decades of experience in the safety, security, and reliability of automotive embedded systems. David's professional activities include functional safety and cybersecurity training, consultancy, and assessment for automotive clients worldwide. As part leader for ISO 26262 Part 6 and a Director of MISRA, David has particular interests in software robustness and common solutions for safety and security.David was involved in pioneering automotive industry cybersecurity initiatives such as the European EVITA project, including the development of an automotive threat analysis and risk assessment (TARA) framework. He is a nominated SAE expert to the international ISO/SAE Joint Working Group that developed ISO/SAE 21434 and is now co-leading activities to harmonize key concepts with other related standards such as ISO 26262 and the forthcoming ISO/TS 5083 on safety and security for automated driving. Paul Wooderson is Chief Engineer and leads the cybersecurity team at HORIBA MIRA. He is a chartered engineer with over two decades of experience in embedded systems security in the automotive and smartcard domains.
