OverviewZoo Snooze is a wonderful collection of poems and stories that will delight the minds of pre-school and elementary school age children, ages four to nine. The titles of the poems and stories by Wanda Haan in Zoo Snooze include Gliding over the Sea, Rainbow Pie in the Sky, Crayon Trees, Up on Big Hill and A Tumbleweed Day. The young readers are also introduced to Olivia the Little Witch and YoYo the Spider in stories guaranteed to enthrall young children. Author Wanda Haan received her Masters Degree in elementary education from Ball State. After being an elementary school teacher in Indiana, Wanda then became an award winning writer, editor and managing editor for Weekly Reader[ elementary school periodicals for 16 years. She was the author of five titles in Rand McNally's People, Spaces & Places[ series and her writings for elementary school children and teachers were also published by Pearson Education Group and Benchmark Educational Publishing. After her sudden death at age 59 in 2003, her family was surprised to find over 100 poems and stories written for pre-school and elementary school age children among her papers. Zoo Snooze contains 93 poems and three short stories from Wanda's lost collection and is the second book published that draws upon Wanda's lost poems.
