Overview

Seven-year-old Michael Waston admires the blessed Christian life his parents exemplify and wants nothing more than to follow them in his own walk with God. Unfortunately, his unpredictable bad temper is the biggest challenge he must overcome as, one day, he unintentionally hurts his four-year-old sister, Matsey. He asks and receives forgiveness, but when Matsey ends up in the hospital with brain cancer, Michael believes it is his fault. As he is tested by trials and situations thrown at him by the Enemy, Michael's father encourages him to grow in his faith through prayer and reading scripture. It is through these methods Michael discovers that God has provided an armor of protection against the Enemy for all of His children to wear and begins to learn how to use it. A story of overcoming personal trials, finding forgiveness in others and in ourselves, and using God's Word for protection and to bring others to salvation, Barbara Elliott-Girod's You're Forgiven proves that while Satan may come after us as we walk this world, we have the armor of God to protect us. Barbara Elliott-Girod drives professionally for the Amish and feels a part of the community. She does this for pleasure and because she likes to serve others. She asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior in 2009 and began writing out scripture, verse by verse, for over fourteen years, hoping to overcome depression. After reading Ephesians 6:10-18 in April of 2010, an idea came to her to write a story involving the armor of God. A dear Amish sister read her first fifteen pages and encouraged her to finish what she started. Now, it has become a trilogy that focuses on the different parts of God's armor with her first book, You're Forgiven, focusing on the helmet and breastplate.
