Overview

Everyone has their price, everyone has their line-in-the-sand; trouble begins when you name your price and cross that line. This crime novel examines the ambiguities of morality, including what money can and cannot buy and the nature of terrorism and redemption. Dr Mia Langley is an ambitious but lonely woman working for the National Crime Agency, analysing society's darkest minds. Ellie Grant is also a lonely woman, working for minimum wage at an animal shelter. When Ellie 'finds' a winning Euro Millions lottery ticket, she decides to use the money for 'the greater good'. As Mia comes to understand and empathise with Ellie's motives, appreciating that most victims are offered the opportunity of redemption, she stops sharing her knowledge with Mark Johnson the NCA'S SIO. When Mia eventually tracks Ellie down, she is made an offer that is very hard to refuse. Both women fall deeply in love with Alex Campbell, an ex-SAS captain whose own line in the sand was lost in the mountains of Afghanistan, but perhaps these three share a better understanding of Justice than Mark Johnson.
