Allen Giese is the founder of Northstar Financial Planners, a fiduciary fee-only financial planning firm in South Florida that prides itself on helping clients achieve what is most important to them. Allen is the father of an adult son who was diagnosed with schizophrenia in his late teens, and, with his wife, Gayle, is deeply involved in mental health advocacy. Together, they founded Ride to Awareness; in 2015 Allen and his team rode 3,000 miles, crossing the USA on bicycles promoting mental illness awareness and fighting the stigma attached to it. Both Allen and Gayle work closely with their local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Allen speaks frequently on the unique challenges of special needs and mental health financial planning.
