OverviewUltrasound-mediated imaging in scattering media has deeper roots than hitherto imagined, roots in condensed matter physics. Vasu and Roy discuss this in order to establish a firm connection between measurement and a host of parameters in the medium, mechanical and optical. These connections are verified through the recovery of parameters using simulations and experiments. Explaining their research, inter alia, the authors explore problems such as noise-assisted small-signal amplification, stochastic search schemes for optimization and anisotropic particle diffusion. For graduates and researchers in the field, this book will highlight key features of the developing science and will enable practitioners to adopt the simulation algorithms and experimental modalities presented. Following this he was a Professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore between 2007–2016. His research interests focus predominantly on imaging and signal processing with special emphasis on optics and tomography. Debasish Roy obtained his PhD from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore and followed this with postdoctoral research at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. His areas of research include computational mechanics of non-classical continua, stochastic dynamical systems and optimization, and inverse problems. He has published numerous works on these topics, and he is currently a Professor at the computational mechanics laboratory at the IISc. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
