Reviewed By: Jack Magnus fpr Readers' Favorite 5 Stars - Congratulations on your 5-star review! TWIN TAILS: Journey to Oceanus: TWIN TAILS Series, Book 3 is a mythological action and adventure book written and illustrated by CILLYart (Cindy M. Bowles). It had been a perfect New Year's Day for the Perez family and their friends. The day's hike had been capped by a scrumptious picnic that both the parents and their kids enjoyed. The day wasn't over yet, however. After they made their way back to their cars, the families and friends drove back to the Mateo family home for a campfire on the beach. Soon, the campfire was almost ready for making s'mores, but the unearthly call of the siren made Marina and Perla, and their parents, forget all about the chocolaty marshmallow treats. Quinn and Ryanne West, the youngest in the group, were holding their dogs, Bentley and Barkley, who had also heard the siren's call. When the dogs broke free and raced to the shore, the two children rushed after them. A sneak wave instantly engulfed the four of them and swept them out to sea! Journey to Oceanus is a fast-paced and exciting fantasy story which follows beautifully from the first two books in the series. I particularly enjoyed seeing Marina's and Perla's first impressions on beholding their birthplace and experiencing their long-awaited reunion with their birth parents. Bowles' story eloquently addresses the reactions of the girls' boyfriends to the discovery of the girls being differently-abled, and the ensuing conflict involved in rescuing the children and the dogs will thrill anyone who enjoys sword and sorcery fantasy. CILLYart's artwork just keeps on getting better and better. I found myself getting lost studying each picture and loved how they so beautifully complemented the story. Bowles' characters are well developed, and the differences between the twins' individual personalities are explored in some detail. Her plot is finely detailed and action-packed. Journey to Oceanus is most highly recommended. BOOK REVIEWER'S SPECIAL NOTE to the AUTHOR: Awesome! And the artwork is a treat! Jessie L. Best, published author of children's book and middle-grade novels: This intriguing, ingenious, and suspenseful story of mystical twin mermaids continues in TWIN TAILS: Journey to Oceanus (Book 3 of the TWIN TAILS Book Series).Author Cindy Bowles (CILLYart) takes her readers on a jaw-dropping journey filled with mystery and danger in the third book of the series. Intertwining themes of sheer courage, self-sacrifice, and love of family and friends, this author captures and holds her young readers' attention to the last written word. With the mysterious capture of two innocent children and their pets by dragon-serpents and sirens, the mermaids discover they are betrothed to marry the sons of the King and Queen of the dragon-serpents and live forever in their murky lairs far beneath the dark ocean waves. Meeting their own royal mer-family for the first time, Marina and Perla are horrified. Appalled at the unlawful behavior of the dangerous sea creatures, King Neptune, the twins' grandfather, soon threatens war, and great upheaval ensues throughout the Kingdom of Oceanus and her populations. The mermaids offer themselves to the Royal dragon-serpent family in exchange for the freedom of the young kidnapped children. Will Marina and Perla find a way to escape from the evil and danger that lurks in the ocean and return to their safe, loving home on earth? Highly recommended and 5-star rated tale full of suspense, romance and danger for all young readers.
