...the book is well written, and most timely in suggesting a comprehensive system which could be politically feasible, militarily effective, and financially affordable. American Bar Association National Security Law Report ...commendably detailed and comprehensive. Those who believe that the United Nations needs to be strengthened do not always address the practical aspects of the questions. This valuable and timely book, is therefore, especially welcome. International Affairs The authors guide the reader, step by step, through the necessary preparations that would make the United Nations peacekeeping and peace-enforcing forces a reality. -- Louis Sohn, Harvard Law School International Affairs It couldn't have been published at a more opportune time. -- Louis Sohn, Harvard Law School Perspective The authors have had extensive international security experience. Their proposals, which draw on that experience, deserve serious consideration both at the United Nations and in world capitals. -- Robert S.
