Mischa writes: After reading The Twelve, the riveting sequel to Justin Cronin's bestseller The Passage, you'll never want to turn out the lights again... I didn't quite know what to expect when picking up the second book in this series, especially considering the first book was so compelling and well-rounded. But The Twelve begins the lengthy process of answering all those unanswerable questions raised in the first book, while also posing new ones simultaneously! There is never a dull moment, however, as throughout the entire book you can't help but sit on the edge of your seat while chewing at your nails. The tension and suspense builds with every page, akin to the great Stephen King. In this sequel, Cronin adds even more depth to his vividly realistic apocalyptic world as he brings back characters from the first book and introduces us to mysterious new comers. He takes us back to the beginning of the end where Lila, Wolgast's hauntingly unforgettable ex-wife, is left to fend for herself and her unborn child in the midst of lifeless, Viral filled Denver. As we follow numerous characters in the old world, we are also taken to the new world, where Peter and Amy are dealing with their own unexplained, terrifying problems. The characters' fear leaps off the page until you find yourself fretfully anticipating the day the electricity dies, the lights go off, and the Virals attack!
