Julie has lived all her life in Upton, Norfolk. Her first taste of employment was in the Baker Hall indoor market in Great Yarmouth. After that she spent ten years caring for the elderly in a residential home in Great Yarmouth. She was working there on the day her daughter was born, completely unaware that she was pregnant let alone about to give birth. Nothing had prepared her or her husband, Colin, for parenthood. Julie never returned to her job in residential care. Instead, after six years as a full-time mother, she started work as a childminder. Caring for children has been a constant source of delight in Julie's life, and the things they say are always guaranteed to put a smile on her face.
