OverviewHistorical novel based on a Stanford University professors search for the truth as to who actually discovered America, leading to a summer archaeological trip to Baja Mexico where his team faces several obstacles and adventures in their journey. As professor Dumont researches his thesis and prepares to submit his proposal to the university he is confronted by shady characters and locked doors along the way. Despite set backs he is successful in getting his grant approved to conduct an archeological expedition to Baja Mexico. The archeological team comprised of the professor and some grad students enter Mexico with high expectations and begin their summer adventure. The team encounters corrupt military personnel and stifling heat on their journey to the site the professor wishes to research. They arrive at their destination, set up their camp and begin their search for the truth only to be met with trials and confrontations with outside parties wishing to stop the team from any further exploration. This time of hardship and fear brings out the best and worst of the group of students and their leader the professor, as they deal with local residents, government agencies, the church foreign interests and their own self doubts.
