Clem Burke was a founding member of Blondie, the seminal band whose influence has shaped music, fashion and art for more than 45 years. Clem has performed on every Blondie recording, including four Billboard No. 1 singles: ‘Heart of Glass’, ‘Call Me’, ‘The Tide Is High’ and ‘Rapture’, the first major hip-hop hit built on original music rather than sampled beats. In recognition of his innovative educational work, Clem received an Honorary Doctorate of Music from the University of Gloucestershire in the UK. The Clem Burke Drumming Project is a groundbreaking research and education initiative that explores the physical, cognitive and psychological benefits of drumming, using rock drumming as its core model. This was Clem’s first and last book.
