Author Information

Micky Dymond, Born 1/21/1965 in Southern California Dymond became a professional motorcycle racer at age 16. He left high school for a career in motorcycle racing. He has competed in all forms of motorcycle racing around the world and has earned 3 national championships. Motocross and Supercross in the 1980's, Freestyle Motocross, Supermoto, Road racing, Baja 1000, and Pikes Peak Hill Climb through the 2000's. He still rides an occasional event or two every year. He has also consulted on or co-created freestyle courses and events such as the Xgames and Nuclear Cowboyz. Dymond has also appeared in many FMX films and documentaries such as crusty demons of dirt and the Emmy awarded Unchained the story of freestyle motocross. Cycling started for Dymond as a training tool and it became more serious over the years. Ultra endurance riding and training soon followed. He has only competed in five Ultra Endurance races. 2 of them were the biggest race on earth. The 3,000 mile race across America. Racing bicycles is not really the true goal for me. The goal can be a huge and difficult physical and mental challenge. It is then the training, and living the experience of the race to the finish. This drives me more than winning . Dymond finished all five of the ultra endurance events, winning four of them. In 2015 Dymond climbed 1 million vertical feet on his bicycle during the calendar year while writing The Legends Of the Road. Speaking of goals. He plans to do the RAAM solo in 2018. Dymond also works as a project manager for All Access staging and productions, a company he has worked with since 2002. All Access support many of his endeavors. Dymond lives in Santa Rosa, California with his girl friend Brenda Lyons. He has three children who all live in Southern California.
