Overview

The queen prays to the gods for her first and only girl child. The gods readily grant her wish conditioned upon the queen's payment of a great sacrificial price. Sadly, the queen pays this price after her daughter is captured by slave merchants. The queen's girl child, Bibi, continues on a journey of struggle and pain in the strange land of Saint-Domingue.
