Table of ContentsReviewsCurious people, young and old, will love this A to Z of exotic animals. From armadillo to zebras, chameleons to quetzals, these exotic animals will surprise and delight; the superb illustrations are intriguing in their use of shape and colour and they convey the spirit of these exotic creatures beautifully. A small thing, but I really like the endpapers with their silhouettes of every creature so we can learn where in the world they live - a clever touch. The inclusion of the Latin names is also interesting. It's a wonderful book from an outstanding new talent - what will Marc Martin bring us next? -- Sarah Brew * Parents in Touch * The Curious Explorer's Illustrated Guide to Exotic Animals A to Z by Marc Martin is beautiful, fascinating and a celebration of some of the world's most unusual animals. -- Louise Ellis-Barrett * Armadillo Magazine * Marc Martin is a fantastic illustrator, and in this Guide to Exotic Animals, he beautifully illustrates some of the more unusual creatures on the planet. -- Hannah Beckerman * The Huffington Post * The book does what it says on the tin, it's an A to Z of exotic animals. But what is really remarkable about this book is the illustrative work of Marc Martin. The animals depicted fit somewhere on the spectrum, between Miro's surrealist creatures and reality. Marc martin manages to create a sense of magic realism (like an exaggerated version of our actual response to exotic animals). Each composition is surprising and ultimately, pleasing on the eye. The illustrations are rich in colour and full of texture.A beautiful, beautiful book. * Magpie That * Curious people, young and old, will love this A to Z of exotic animals.
