OverviewThere are two Sawyers in this story. That is where the trouble begins. One Sawyer is a boy. The other Sawyer is a yellow Labrador puppy with poor judgment and absolutely no concern for how confusing a shared name can become. During a summer evening at Devil's Lake, puppy Sawyer finds himself in all sorts of trouble during what should have been an ordinary beach day. When his owner starts yelling, ""Sawyer!"" the boy Sawyer thinks he is being called. Puppy Sawyer does not care. Soon everyone is confused, one person is laughing too hard to help, and the puppy remains convinced he is the hero of the entire event. Based on a true story, The Boy, the Dog, and the Mossy Log is a humorous, warmhearted short story about mistaken identity, lake-day chaos, and the questionable decision-making of Labrador puppies.
