A blank canvas. I grew up in Texas, with a loving mother who used to read to him often. I attended writing workshops growing up and pursued my love of writing through college, where I took classes in Creative Writing and Poetry, while on my main path to become a High School Biology Teacher. Writing - for me - is a way of getting sucked into a world of creativity, and honing in on the beautiful details of that world. Once I graduated and went forth into the world, my creativity compounded more and more. I've traveled to over 20 countries, worked at 5 summer camps, created a large group immersive games company, and more. Now, I weave writing into my journey of youth mentorship, with an aim to empower youth through new ideas, stories, and positive influence. The destiny of the world is determined less by the battles that are lost and won than by the stories it loves and believes in. - Harold Clarke Goddard I utilize my art to further my adventures in personal introspection. By expressing concepts through imagery that I am currently struggling with I permit myself the opportunity to wade deeper into an idea. In this way I live into the act of creation rather than mental analysis (my default approach) to synthesize my experience. For the past few years my focus has revolved around the theme of the duality of mind and body. I hope to convey and gain insight into the inherent wisdom of both the cerebral and material realms of existence. As is evident in my work, I experience the intersection of these realms as both magical and spiritual. I find myself especially drawn to the subjects of egoic narrative, sensory perception, empowerment, peace, and our relationship to nature. Before anything else, I am a curious and passionate human being dedicated to a life of discovery and growth. I traditionally serve in the field of youth development. When not analyzing my personal life philosophy, I am also a freelance illustrator and painter living in Asheville, NC. I deeply enjoy traveling in Latin America, drinking coffee, soaking up nature, and reading about psychology and philosophy. In 2018 I moved into my own studio space in Asheville, NC called Conscious Inquiry. I am pursuing my artistry now as a means of sharing this inquiry with the world. As an artist, I focus my work in watercolor and gouache. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
