She was born in 1979, in a small industrial city, Stalowa Wola (Poland). She left her country in 2001 and settled in Bordeaux. Since 2006, she has lived partly in France, in a small village in Champagne, and partly in Belgium (Brussels). In collaboration with Sylvain Savoia, she published one comic book series Marzi which tells the story of her childhood in the communist Poland. The book has been translated in several languages, including English. Berenika Kołomycka is a cartoonist, sculptor, illustrator.
