Overview

What does Dr. Olivia Alvarado- full-time vet and part-time coroner for Port Serenity, Texas-do when she discovers that the man she loves is married? What wacky town! A whole cast of quirky, entertaining people. A delightful read. It was funny that Olivia considered everyone over the age of forty in that town to be certifiably insane. C.J. was one charming, determined man. He is the sheriff of this crazy town. He often has some unorthodox ideas when it comes to solving crimes. In her mind, Olivia called C.J. Mr. Too-Cute-For-His-Own-Good. She also saw him as a slow-walking, quick-grinning Texas charmer. But he was also able to quickly become all business when it came to a professional issue. Someone good to have on your side. Really good secondary characters. There were plenty of them without being confusing. Just as their were several adventures ; once again not confusing. Truly, a good clean, enjoyable read. This is another witty, fun read. Although this story can stand on it's own, I'm glad I read A Texas State of Mind first. Many of the colourful characters reappear, and again they add charm and humour. CJ and Livy's story is one about trust and it was heartwarming to see how they both learn to open their hearts. Another delightful read! And I adore that cover! The humor that Ms. DeFee threaded throughout the story along with the suspense was absolutely wonderful. Fang made the book for me...I could just picture the sheriff carrying around this cut fluffy white dog!! Awesome contemporary romance that contains suspense, intrigue and mutual attractions. This is a delightful, heartwarming contemporary romance set on the beautiful Texas Gulf Coast. I loved the interesting, colorful characters and the quirky small town vibe of Port Serenity. The captivating plot drew me in immediately and I couldn't put the book down until the end. I really enjoyed the interaction and witty dialogue of Dr. Olivia Alvarado, a vet and the county coroner, and sexy Sheriff C. J. Baker. I can hardly wait to read more from the Port Serenity Series and Ms. DeFee.
