He was awarded a CityArts Grant in 1985 from the NEA and the City of Norfolk to do poetry performances around town. He has published poetry in the Anthology of Poems by Member Poets, Poetry Society of Virginia and short stories in In Good Company, An Anthology of Short Fiction by Virginia Writers and publications like Portland Magazine. And he has done several art projects with photographer Glen McClure, including A Random Portrait of Virginia. Tales from the Multiverse is his first book of short stories.
