OverviewT-follicular helper (Tfh) cells are a specialized subset of CD4+ T cells essential for the formation and function of germinal centers, which are sites within secondary lymphoid organs where B cells mature and undergo somatic hypermutation and class switch recombination. Tfh cells have high levels of the chemokine receptor CXCR5, which directs them to B cell follicles. They provide crucial help to B cells through the production of cytokines, which promote B cell proliferation, differentiation into plasma cells, and the generation of high-affinity antibodies. The dysregulation of Tfh cells can lead to autoimmune diseases and impaired immune responses. Thus, understanding Tfh cell biology is key to advancing vaccine development and therapeutic interventions for immune-related disorders. The objective of this book is to give a detailed view of the different areas of research focused on T-follicular helper (Tfh) cells. Different approaches, evaluations, methodologies and advanced studies on Tfh cells have been included herein. This book includes contributions from experts and scientists which will provide innovative insights into this field.
