OverviewThe book offers a syntactic analysis of Hungarian noun phrases containing various types of argument-taking predicates within the theoretical framework of Lexical-Functional Grammar. It investigates the nature of the possessor grammatical function and proposes that it should be treated as semantically unrestricted. The book also explores the rules which determine the possible ways of realizing oblique arguments and adjuncts of derived nominals. In addition, it formulates a new account of the basic organizing principle of the use of certain participles in Hungarian noun phrases.
