OverviewIn this book, we posed two questions to address the challenges facing DJOMEC: How could DJOMEC (Djolof Mutual Savings and Credit Association) help combat poverty in a region as impoverished as Djolof while striving to achieve its goals of sustainability and long-term viability? The second question aimed to shed light on the practical ways in which microfinance stakeholders and beneficiaries (the government, clients, donors, managers, and employees) interested in reducing poverty in Djoloff can intervene. The analysis we conducted through this study revealed that, beyond best practices in management, DJOMEC needs to manage external factors to achieve its objectives, whether commercial or social. Commercially, since its inception, DJOMEC has overcome enormous obstacles, growing from an initial capital of 580,000 to 1,091,842,259 today. This result confirms the hypothesis that DJOMEC's sustainability depends on essential factors such as the adequacy of its equity capital.
